A natural tooth is a complex structure made up of different tissues. MINISH takes these different internal structures into consideration when restoring a damaged tooth.

Enamel, which forms the outer surface of the tooth, is hard and rigid, similar to glass,
while dentin underneath is softer and more flexible.

When enamel is damaged, it should be restored with a material that has properties similar to enamel.
When dentin is affected, a material with properties closer to dentin, such as dental composite resin, may be used.

Simply using the hardest possible material does not always provide the best result.
A restoration that is excessively hard may place unnecessary stress on the opposing teeth.

MINISH blocks are designed with multiple physical properties in mind, including flexural strength,
compressive strength, tensile strength, wear resistance, elasticity,
and thermal expansion, with the goal of achieving characteristics similar to natural teeth.

• How much does MINISH treatment cost?

  • MINISH treatment fees may vary depending on the treating dentist and their clinical experience with MINISH cases. Please refer to The Square Dental Clinic’s MINISH program below for detailed pricing information.

• How long does MINISH treatment take?

  • Treatment is generally completed within approximately one week. With advance scheduling and coordination with the MINISH Lab, treatment may be completed in as little as two days in eligible cases.

• Will my teeth be sensitive after MINISH treatment?

  • Many MINISH cases can be performed without local anesthesia, and significant sensitivity is uncommon when treatment remains within the enamel. However, if a tooth is severely out of alignment and preparation extends beyond the enamel, temporary sensitivity may occur. In most cases, sensitivity gradually improves within a few days to several weeks.

• Are there any possible side effects of MINISH treatment?

  • Inadequate oral hygiene after treatment may lead to staining or plaque accumulation around the margin where MINISH meets the natural tooth. Although this area may not always be easily visible, persistent plaque accumulation can increase the risk of tooth decay. Proper brushing, flossing, and regular dental checkups are therefore essential. Temporary tooth sensitivity may also occur for approximately two to three weeks after treatment.

• Can MINISH chip or break?

  • MINISH is adhesively bonded to the tooth to function together with the remaining natural tooth structure. Just as natural teeth can wear or chip over time, MINISH restorations may also experience wear or fracture. Accurate diagnosis, precise design, proper bonding, and careful bite adjustment are important for reducing these risks. Regular dental checkups after treatment are also essential for long-term maintenance.

• How is MINISH different from conventional veneers?

  • MINISH differs from conventional veneers in its materials, fabrication process, and treatment approach. Rather than focusing solely on the appearance of the front teeth, MINISH is designed as a restorative treatment that aims to restore both dental function and aesthetics.
