• Why does the cost of Facial Orthodontics vary?

  • Treatment duration and the additional appliances required can vary depending on the complexity of each case. For example, when the treatment plan involves precisely moving the upper front teeth upward and backward to improve a gummy smile while minimizing unwanted gum recession, an additional skeletal anchorage device such as a mini plate may be required.

• How long does Facial Orthodontics take?

  • Treatment time varies from case to case. Facial Orthodontics may take approximately 18 months in some cases and 36 months or longer in more complex cases.

• Why does the treatment time vary between patients?

  • The rate of tooth movement can vary considerably from person to person. Treatment difficulty and duration also depend on how far the teeth need to move and in which direction they need to be moved.

• Can Facial Orthodontics correct facial asymmetry?

  • Facial Orthodontics can address dental asymmetry. In some patients, improving an asymmetric bite may also help create more balanced muscle function over time, which can improve the appearance of muscular asymmetry. However, true skeletal asymmetry visible on radiographic examination cannot generally be corrected with orthodontics alone and may require orthognathic surgery.

• Can Facial Orthodontics make my face look slimmer?

  • In some cases, correcting an excessively wide or imbalanced dental arch may contribute to a slimmer and more balanced facial appearance. However, when facial width is primarily caused by the underlying skeletal structure rather than the dental arch or muscles, orthodontic treatment alone may not provide the desired change, and surgical treatment may need to be considered.
