allowing malocclusion to be corrected without tooth extraction in suitable cases.
What Is Arch Expansion?
The dental arch is the curved structure of the alveolar bone that supports the teeth. When a narrow arch is expanded, additional space can be created for tooth movement, making non-extraction alignment possible in appropriate cases.

RPE
(Rapid Palatal Expander)
An RPE widens the upper dental arch by applying expansion forces to the teeth and surrounding structures. It can achieve relatively rapid expansion and does not require miniscrews.

MARPE
(Mini screw-Assisted Rapid Palatal Expander)
MARPE uses miniscrews to deliver expansion forces more directly to the maxillary bone. By opening the midpalatal suture, it aims to achieve skeletal expansion and increase the actual width of the upper jaw, rather than relying mainly on changes in tooth inclination.
